Current Management Of Heart Failure

aÇocuk Kardiyoloji BD, Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ADANA Treatment of heart failure in infants, children and adults is a rapidly evolving field that has been completely changed in the past 10 years as the knowledge of patophysiology has deepened. Goals of standart therapy are afterload reduction, preload regulation and increase myocardial contractility if it exist. Currently most therapies for congestive heart failure are predicated on interrupting the reflex neurohumoral control mechanisms that account for many symptoms of heart failure. Because, clinical syndrome of heart failure is the result of reflex adaptive mechanisms activated in cardiac, vascular and neurohumoral system which is response to failure of myocardium to meet the metabolic demands of the body.
