aÇocuk Kardiyoloji BD, bÇocuk Acil BD, Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, ANKARA Cardiac dysrhytmias are common in children. Among children with dysrhythmias, the most common dysrhytmias are sinus tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia and bradicardia. The pediatric practitioner is the first to recognize the symptoms and signs of an dysrhytmia. Careful assessment of the history, physical examination, and ECG is necessary for making the correct diagnosis. Most of cardiac dysrhytmias are benign and do not signify underlying heart disease. However, the main tacharrhythmias (SVT and VT) can cause cardiovascular collapse, and should therefore be treated promptly. Drug treatment is effective and is appropriate in stable patients. DC shock is treatment of choice in patients with compromised circulation. Keywords: Child, arrhythmiaTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2007, 3(50):56-63
