Upper Cervical Injuries And Emergent Surgical Treatment

Upper cervical injuries occur in association with head traumas which frequently result in death. Traffic accidents play the most significant role in its etiology as well as, fall from height, diving into shallow water and gunshot wounds are among the major causes o these injuries. Laminectomy and decompression are the most widely used methods that can be applied as emergency surgical interventions in these cases.
