Therapeutic Drug Monitoring In Determination/prevention Of Drug Toxicity

Drug level in biological fluids especially in serum is monitored to enhance therapeutic response and reduce toxicity. In this monitor-ing named as therapeutic drug monitoring, therapeutic range (thera-peutic window) obtained from large patient populations is reference value. However, patients may not recover or have drug toxicity in spite of their serum drug levels within therapeutic range. Besides, serum drug levels out of this range may not reflect the clinic of some patients. Therefore, obtained drug levels should be evaluated accord-ing to the clinic of the patient.
