Emergencies Of Optic Nerve And Visual System

Diagnosis and treatment of optic nerve and visual system emer-gencies are very important because they may be reflections of other life threatening diseases to the eye. Emergencies of optic nerve and visual system may show theirselves with vision loss, pupillary changes and visual field defects. Emergencies with visual loss can occur when optic nerve is affected at various levels while some emer-gencies may manifest with pupillary signs. Since anisocoria may be physiological, it might also happen due to a drug use, anterior cham-ber pathology, and previous eye surgery or neurogical pathology. Different types of visual field defects occur when visual pathways are affected. Briefly, intracranial lesions can manifest with different signs in eyes.
