Abnormal Uterine Bleeding

Extensive gynecologic and systemic evaluation is mandatory to isolate the underlying reason in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB). Dysfunctional uterine bleeding a diagnosis of exclusion is the most common reason of AUB. High dose oral hormone therapies are employed to control the bleeding when it is acute and abundant. In longer term follow up, medical or surgical therapeutic approaches with success rates reaching 90% may be employed.
