The majority of newborns establish their vital functions without support after delivery. However, 10% of these babies might require help to initiate breathing and less than 1% need extensive resuscitation. Newborn resuscitation is an area of speciality, and educated and skilled personnel should be ready in the delivery room during deliveries at risk. We herein review neonatal resuscitation and present what to do step by step in the delivery room on the basis of the revised “Neonatal Resuscitation Guidelines” by American Heart Association and American Academy of Pediatrics just published in 2006.Keywords: Newborn, neonatal resuscitationTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2006, 2(24):55-61
