Malignancy Related Hypoglycemia And Hyperglycemia

aTıbbi Onkoloji BD, Gaziantep Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Şahinbey Araştırma ve Uygulama Hastanesi, GAZİANTEP Hypoglycemia is a condition presented with a blood glucose level below 60 mg/dl and signs and symptoms such as pallor, tachycardia, anxiety, fatigue, sweating, sense of hunger, paresthesia, headache, personality chances, and confusion. Among the causes of hypoglycemia are insulinomas, hepathoma, neuroblastoma, mesenchymal tumors such as hemangiopericytoma, fibrosarcoma, leiyomyoma, mesothelioma and neurofibroma and sometimes leukemia and lymphomas. Panreatic cancer which may cause pancreatic β cell loss, Cushing’s syndrome, pheochromocytomas of adrenal medulla, primary hyperaldosteronemia, POEMS syndrome, and haemochromatosis may result with glucose intolerance or diabetes.Keywords: Malignency, hypoglycemia, hiperglycemiaTurkiye Klinikleri J Surg Med Sci 2006, 2(33):19-21
