Acute Pulmonary Thromboembolism

Pulmonary thromboembolism (more than 90%) come from deep veins in the legs. Three most important symptoms and signs are tachycardia, tachypnea and chest pain. The patient can die because of cardiopulmonary insuffiency and shock.In the diagnosis of PTE can used serum D-Dimer level, plain chest X-rays, ventilation/perfusion lung scan, spiral computed tomography, pulmonary angiography, doppler ultrasonography of the legs.
